Fortitude and Confirmation
In the week that the school celebrates this Sacrament, we reflect upon the virtue of Fortitude.
Giotto indicates that this virtue should be imagined in a defensive posture, resolute against the onslaught of aggressors.
This is possible, if in the words of Newman,
‘He who has nothing to hope from this world, has nothing to fear from it.’
